Johan: Did you ever try to put a Dobro resonator guitar through a SansAmp distortion? If you get the opportunity, try it... ;-) Not much else happened yesterday, I was drinking wine at the neighbors and watching Jackass. One question: Why? I suppose the late and great Frank Zappa had the ultimate answer to that: AAAFNRAA...

Had some blog-posting-trouble yesterday. Now it seems to work(?) Anyways, I have piled up about five songs in my mind. I plan to record some really basic versions with just guitar and voice and then take the easy way out: send it to Johan and let him have a go at it;-) Also exploring "filter beats" in Reason. No I will not reveal how to patch up these Amazing Sonic Critters (hint: I'm not talking about putting a drumloop trough a filter here), cause it's a secret. Now, turn off your computer and go out and play...

Johan: rediscovered the great importance of the "subtle random element" in sounds; adding a bit of chaos here and there sure makes things more lively. I could really use a good electronic drumkit as well, but they don't come cheap...
Tried to write some more lyrics as well, but inspiration would not grace me with a visit at that time. There will be other days.

Johan: Sat yesterday and experimented with effects on vocals and found some really useful combinations of distortion, heavy parametric eq, reverb and delay. I am sure that you will hear the result in our future work...;-) Also worked on a new lyric about a lovely girl in a pin-striped suit; maybe I'll get to date her...

Procedural: Since I was the man who started this blog my name shows up in every post. Good habit is to begin all posts with a first name. Here is also the link to our page at mp3.com:

(just so you know what we talk about...) We are planning to add some star-pix to the page. There is a slight problem with one member in UK and the other one in Sweden - Some photoshop-magic might do the trick? I also have a lot of ideas floating around right now: new songs, old songs, lyrics etc...I need to switch myself into "Do-mode" instead of Think-mode".

"beep the message over and rewind the tape, as sanctities are pouring in with every dream
and 4 am is screaming red across the room" laters...

Johan: Sat yesterday and worked on the vocals for "Watchman", a new song. Got to change the name of it though, as this is only a work name of it. Recorded initial vocals and it sounds OK, needs more work though... Also spent some time in the weekend trying to sort out the new/old song "Codeine" - a helluva rock 'n roll song! The original recording had a sort of arpeggio in the background that we wanted to recreate, but it was kind of complicated. No original sequencer files, so I had to sit down and figure it out from the recording... finally got it: it is a repeating pattern of 13/8 (ah yes, triplets as well), where the sixth note had been left out and the whole pattern moved forward one step on the third note every other bar... follow me? ;-) Couldn't quite reproduce the fab backward distorted Hammond sound we had on the original, it had this really nice gritty sound. I only managed a sort of cheezy "bwaa" noise... got to work on that one.

Monday May 6, 2002 Yesterday I (Mattias) finally got going and put down vocals on the new/old song "Bleak house". I'm thinking a lot about the still unrecorded tune "Faith" - why is it that the little accoustic guitar riff sounds cool on guitar while extremly cheesy on a synth? Does it need a chorus? By the way we have finally got ourselves a FAN!
